A4Labs and IPSAR consortium launched the first results from action research on smallholder solar-powered irrigation from sand river aquifers in arid Africa. Scientists and practitioners were actively engaged in our special session on understanding the hydrological behaviour and enhancing the sustainable use of sand rivers during the Waternet conference from 30 Oct to 1 Nov 2019 in Johannesburg.
