Katherine Phillips, the Reuben Marc Professor of Organizational Character at Columbia Business School, joins us to discuss her writings on the double-edged sword of diversity. While diversity is of enormous creative benefit to companies who are willing to put in the work to manage it properly, it can result in tribalism and dissatisfaction without the right leadership approach. Prof. Phillips suggests, based on her research, that women leaders are especially well-equipped for the challenge of capitalising on diversity and avoiding its many traps.
